Tuna and Cheese Spread

Serve on a large lettuce leaf or leaves, with any type of whole-wheat crackers on the side. This one will give your guests a nice portion of omega-3 fatty acids.

Ingredients

One 3-ounce package reduced-fat cream cheese
1/3 cup sour cream
One 7-ounce can white tuna packed in water, drained
3 tablespoons minced green onion
3 tablespoons chopped celery
2 tablespoons chopped ripe olives
1/2 cup chopped pecans
Salt and ground black pepper to taste

Preparation

  1. In a bowl, mix the cream cheese and sour cream with a fork until smooth. Mix in the tuna, green onion, celery, and olives. Fold in the pecans. Add salt and pepper to taste. Press the mixture into a ball or mold it into a shape of your choice. Cover and chill in the refrigerator for 2 hours or in the freezer for 12 to 15 minutes.
