Peanut Butter Hot Chocolate with Vanilla Whipped Cream

Ingredients

1 cup heavy cream
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
6 cups whole milk
1 split vanilla bean
1 cinnamon stick
6 ounces bittersweet chocolate, grated
2 tablespoons creamy peanut butter

Preparation

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk the cream, sugar, and vanilla to make whipped cream, 3 to 4 minutes, then chill. Bring the milk, vanilla bean, and cinnamon stick to a simmer in a large saucepan, then whisk in the chocolate and peanut butter. Reduce the heat and simmer for a few minutes, remove from the heat, discard the vanilla bean and cinnamon stick, and cover to keep hot. Serve the peanut butter hot chocolate with whipped cream on top.
